Background

A unique, designated workshop for Bar Mitzvah instructors and community rabbis in Israel and abroad who are interested in enriching the educational experience and family preparation for the Bar Mitzvah ceremony and the Aliya LaTorah. Fascinating, deep content that will connect the Bar Mitzvah boy and his family to the big day.

What will we learn

We will learn about the process of making the Tefillin: the varied types of leather rendered Kosher for making Tefillin, how are the Batim made. We will learn about the Parshiyot of the Tefillin and the customs of different Jewish communities. From experience, such study intensifies the experience of preparing for the Bar Mitzvah of the Bar Mitzvah boy.

What will we receive

The instructor/Shali’ach/community rabbi will receive a kit for his personal use, upgrading the learning sessions. The kit contains Batei Tefillin, written Parshiyot serving as a model, a reed pen, inkwell, hairs, sewing threads, Tefillin straps and additional theoretical material.
